In total, 24 employees were awarded for their service during the annual Years of Service Awards Ceremony that was held on March 28, 2019 at The Barn at Wight Farm in Sturbridge. Cornerstone Bank Makes Donation to Jeremiah’s Inn

Michael Robbins.[/caption] The Charitable Donations Committee (CDC) of Cornerstone Bank recently donated $1,500 to Jeremiah’s Inn, an organization that operates a 29-bed Social Model Recovery Program for adult men struggling with substance abuse disorders. Jeremiah’s Inn also runs a Nutrition Center that offers programs designed to combat hunger and food insecurity. This donation will benefit the organization’s food pantry, which provides emergency food assistance to individuals and families living within the southern Worcester community. “Jeremiah’s Inn performs important work within the community by providing emergency food to many individuals,” said Cornerstone Bank Chairman & CEO K. Cornerstone Bank & Employees Donate $45,000 to the United Way

During the recent holiday season, the Bank held a company-wide pledge campaign where employees were given the opportunity to donate to the non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the needs for education, income, and healthcare for communities across the globe. The money raised included employee contributions of $23,551, as well as a $22,000 corporate gift. Cornerstone Bank Makes Donation to Kennedy-Donovan Center

This donation will help the Center purchase sensory equipment for their South Central Early Intervention Program located in Southbridge, MA. The KDC is a non-profit human service agency serving families in eastern and central Massachusetts and northern Connecticut. The KDC provides a wide range of programs, including in-home services to support children, adolescents and adults with developmental delays, disabilities or family challenges. The South Central Early Intervention (EI) Program has offered early intervention services since 1992 and consists of 55 staff members. EI coordinates services to families with children from birth to 3 years of age who may have developmental delays or whose circumstances put them at risk for developmental delays. The sensory equipment purchased will be utilized by the EI program’s Occupational Therapists during home visits; each therapist will receive a “Mobile Sensory Kit” that includes the most commonly used tools. “We are pleased to assist the South Central Early Intervention Program with purchasing the sensory equipment needed to improve the lives of children and families in our community,” stated Cornerstone Bank Chairman & CEO K. Cornerstone Bank Appoints Alan Peppel to Board of Directors

Cornerstone Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Peppel to its Board of Directors. A former Southbridge Savings Bank Board Member, Peppel is replacing John Colognesi’s seat on the now Cornerstone Bank Board. Colognesi first became a Director for Southbridge Savings Bank in 1984; in October 2018, he retired as a Director and was named an Honorary Director of Cornerstone Bank. A Missouri native and now longtime resident of Central Massachusetts, Peppel holds a BA in Economics from Carleton College and an MBA from Nichols College. He is also a graduate of the Management Course of the American Management Association and is certified as a Food Service Professional by the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers. Currently, Peppel is the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Affinity Group and CEO of Dexter-Russell, Inc. Along with his new Board Member position with Cornerstone Bank, Peppel also serves on and is a member of many local boards and organizations. “We thank John for his contributions and service to the Board over the years, and we’re honored to have someone as experienced as Alan to join our Board,” stated K. Cornerstone Bank Contributes to Spencer Toys for Kids Campaign

Collectively, staff members donated toys to 30 children living in Spencer. The Bank’s employees are the largest contributor to the Spencer Toys for Kids program, while the Bank also serves as a drop-off location for this program each year. “Our employees look forward to giving back during the holiday season. Cornerstone Bank Contributes to Toys for Tots Annual Campaign

Cornerstone Bank was also proud to donate an additional $1,500 to the cause. The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect and distribute new, unwrapped toys to local, needy children in Worcester County. Branches of Cornerstone Bank served as drop-off locations for the program from November 23rd through December 6th. Additionally, Bank employees donated toys, as well as helped organize the donations made by the community. “We’re always looking for ways to be a part of the communities we serve and this toy drive is a great way to do that,” said Cornerstone Bank President & Treasurer Todd M. Cornerstone Bank Donates to Worcester County Food Bank

The annual drive, which took place from November 1st through the 14th, gave an opportunity for customers, local community members, and employees to contribute much needed food items to local families in need. “Food pantries are a vital resource to our community; during the holidays and year-round,” said VP-HR Business Partner of Cornerstone Bank Bonnie B. Losavio. “Thank you to our generous customers and employees for making this year’s food drive a success.” Food items were delivered to the Worcester County Food Bank on Friday, November 16th.

Cornerstone Bank Donates to Worcester Interfaith

Michael Robbins.[/caption]  Worcester, MA—Cornerstone Bank’s Charitable Donations Committee (CDC) is proud to announce its recent donation of $1,000 to Worcester Interfaith in support of its Youth Job Initiative. This initiative provides summer jobs to as many as 400 low-income, minority, and newcomer youth each summer. Each participant receives ten hours of pre-employment training, ongoing supervision, and mentorship, as well as further training at their workplace. Worcester Interfaith is a multi-use, broad-based community organization that builds connections between congregational and community leaders across religious, socio-economic, racial, and ethnic boundaries. They currently work on four major initiatives: youth jobs, living-wage jobs for adults, affordable housing, and refugee/immigrant resettlement. “Worcester Interfaith works to improve and strengthen the community,” stated Chairman and CEO K.
